So yesterday, 22 April, marked a monumental day for most anime fans~ Puella Maji Madoka Magica's final two episodes were released at about noon! The much anticipated episodes had everyone checking constantly as to when it was going to be released, having been delayed due to the earthquake in Japan. M.F mentioned that due to the huge amount of downloads, the GG server crashed ^^ Myself? I was at an anime marathon screening for Tatakau Shishou, Bantorra with few friends, and when the final two episodes of Madoka was released, we ceased Bantorra and just HAD to watch it first XD

This was the awesome screening area where the couches were so comfortable, one could simply LIE down and go to sleep~

Auntie was so nice as to make lunch for us! We initially planned to order takeaway, but really, what will be opened on Good Friday? =( This wasn't a very popular dish, but I liked it so I was happily digging into it.

My typical macro shot of it. The peas were home grown by Auntie!

Felt kinda bad because we imposed on their family for the whole day. Literally, we watched 29 episodes of anime, from 10am till 10:30pm. I think I must have fallen asleep during one of the episodes and discovered I'm actually really bad at sitting still for more than an hour. Fidgeted heaps and went out for snacks and breaks frequently.
Marathons are never easy, be it running or watching anime.

M.F is a vegetarian for the next couple of weeks due to Easter, so he had to have plain Maggi noodles. And vegemite toast in the afternoon.

My huge pile of noodles, which Auntie dished out for me, knowing that I liked it =D Seriously, I must have finished at least a third of the whole dish. Lamb with lots and lots of gravy~!
Having not had the time to truly catch up with friends that I haven't met in months, it was really great catching up, feeling the hype of anticipating the downloading and watching of Puella finale and anime together. I've undermined how great it is to have friends that share the same interest. To some people, watching anime is weird, it's something to be embarrassed about, often mistaken as something only kids would watch (Ha! I'd like to see a kid watch School Days and NOT get traumatised), or something that they have to move on from once they hit uni and post uni days. I beg to differ.
To end on an emo note, I guess it's a grave reminder of how much one loses if one finds no time for friends :)

Woo Madoka! Can't believe you fell asleep, when did that happen?! -SM
during the episode where the blonde-turned-purple-haired girl was chasing after Othello. Which is why I asked who some of the characters were afterwards, cos I missed it. It's like they introduce 2 new characters every episode and kill off 2 to balance it out ><
Hahahah they had to for the finale but yeah totally, everyone time someone dies, surprise! New character!
I can see now why some people didn't like Bantorra. It's hard to keep track.
Kurokami? :D
Saa~ Kurokami shouldn't be quite as character-crazy though!
Also your name changed for the comments..? oO
I can has multiple accounts! >=D
Nah, my windf2joker account's picasa ran out of space, so I have the lleungy account to put more photos. It's already approaching its limit though... =( might need a third account soon.
LOL
Or you could like, pay for a pro account or something. :P
*cough portal 2 cough*
I felt madoka's wish was a bit of a cop-out on the writer's part.. Just as bad as writing a time travel sequence so that it never happened in the first place. Then again I wouldn't know how to end that series either.
They could have just ended it grimdark, but I guess Madoka had to make a wish worthy of her potential...
There really isn't another way of ending it, unless you wanted an ending where everyone dies.. (is that what you meant by grimdark??)
Homura deserves a sequel!
Yeah well grimdark doesn't mean /everyone/ dies, but probably at least a few beloved characters or something... (ep 3 was grimdark, and that's when you find out this anime is not your standard set of magical girls..! D:)
